Sushil has vast experience in building communication systems and real-time applications that are distributed, highly scalable, and highly available.
Prior to BigR.io, Sushil was a founding member of a successful startup that innovated and supplied high-capacity switching gear deployed in the AT&T Core Network. He participated in standard setting bodies including ATM-Forum and IETF where he made several contributions. He holds a patent in high-speed switching.
As a member of the BigR.io team, Sushil led an immensely successful development team in designing and implementing a large-scale medical image exchange that securely turns over 10s of TB of data weekly, across organizational boundaries and disparate systems. He has been central to standards compliancy for Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) initiatives, including HL7 and XDS/DICOM adherence. He was a key figure in implementing a large-scale data ingest pipeline and NoSQL store for eBay Enterprise (120B+ transactions per year, with 5M transactions per minute at peak).

David Vaccaro
Principal Software Engineer
David, a veteran software consultant with 25 years of professional software development experience and over 16 years providing direct development consultation, has focused primarily on designing and implementing healthcare applications across a wide range of domains including clinical trial management, DICOM medical imaging PACS and teleradiology, medical billing and interfacing, anesthesia quality reporting (AQI – QCDR – NACOR), post-approval drug trial disease registry reporting (E2B safety reporting), and intellectual and developmental disabilities management systems (SIS and other instruments).
More recently, David has been focusing on emerging healthcare interoperability standards for the integration and exchange of health information including HL7 FHIR, IHE XDS-I.b and DICOMweb.
As a member of Integrating the Health Enterprise (IHE) and Health Level Seven International (HL7), David actively participates on standards committees including the IHE IT Infrastructure Technical Committee and the IHE Radiology Technical Committee, routinely making contributions to the emerging interoperability standards.
Yves Champagne

Yves is a seasoned software engineer with over 20 years’ experience designing, developing, and delivering Java and .NET distributed enterprise applications. He has hands-on expertise in object-oriented analysis, design, and development applications as well. He has done ongoing consulting work for an enterprise CEE platform with projects including a high-volume email redirector and an external platform API capable of handling 100+ billion messages annually with a 99.999% uptime and multi-layered security measures to thwart phishing attacks. Yves also has extensive experience designing and implementing Data Access Layers and Business Logic Layers for a variety of companies using Hibernate, NHibernate, Spring, POJO, and more.

Goal: Healthcare professionals have a need to store and access relevant medical documents for any patient under care. Document creation and submission, query & retrieval functions, and secure access must span the healthcare enterprise to provide timely care in the most efficient manner.
Result: BigR.io’s engineering team built and deployed a scalable, IHE compliant, multi-tenant infrastructure to provide a patient-centric Image Share Service that securely turns over 10s of TB of data weekly, across organizational boundaries and disparate systems.
eCommerce Marketing Solution
Goal: eBay Enterprise Marketing Solutions (EEMS) contracted with BigR.io to build fundamental components of a new Customer Engagement Engine (CEE) for their Commerce Marketing Platform.
Result: BigR.io’s expertise enabled the CEE to handle data from tens of millions of end users every day with 99.999% availability at peak traffic (5M transactions/minute at peak). The state-of-the-art system integrates the eCommerce operations of eBay partners, such as major retailers, Fortune 500 consumer brands, professional sports leagues, and major U.S. airlines.
