Healthcare Technology Team Lead:
Lead Architect & Developer
Sushil has vast experience in building communication systems and real-time applications that are distributed, highly scalable, and highly available.
Prior to BigR.io, Sushil was a founding member of a successful startup that innovated and supplied high-capacity switching gear deployed in the AT&T Core Network. He participated in standard setting bodies including ATM-Forum and IETF where he made several contributions. He holds a patent in high-speed switching.
As a member of the BigR.io team, Sushil led an immensely successful development team in designing and implementing a large-scale medical image exchange that securely turns over 10s of TB of data weekly, across organizational boundaries and disparate systems. He has been central to standards compliancy for Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) initiatives, including HL7 and XDS/DICOM adherence. He was a key figure in implementing a large-scale data ingest pipeline and NoSQL store for eBay Enterprise (120B+ transactions per year, with 5M transactions per minute at peak).
Healthcare Technology Engineers:
Principal Software Engineer
David, a veteran software consultant with 25 years of professional software development experience and over 16 years providing direct development consultation, has focused primarily on designing and implementing healthcare applications across a wide range of domains including clinical trial management, DICOM medical imaging PACS and teleradiology, medical billing and interfacing, anesthesia quality reporting (AQI – QCDR – NACOR), post-approval drug trial disease registry reporting (E2B safety reporting), and intellectual and developmental disabilities management systems (SIS and other instruments).
More recently, David has been focusing on emerging healthcare interoperability standards for the integration and exchange of health information including HL7 FHIR, IHE XDS-I.b and DICOMweb.
As a member of Integrating the Health Enterprise (IHE) and Health Level Seven International (HL7), David actively participates on standards committees including the IHE IT Infrastructure Technical Committee and the IHE Radiology Technical Committee, routinely making contributions to the emerging interoperability standards.
