About the job
Senior Vice President – Finance & Investment
- Location: USA – Remote
- Type of Role: Full-time
Overview
The Senior Vice President – Finance & Investment will serve as an external-facing, strategic finance leader driving fundraising, investor relations, FP&A, treasury, and overall financial strategy. This role will actively engage the investor community — sourcing and building relationships with prospective investors, leading capital raises, and representing the organization in external financial conversations. The role will partner closely with the CFO and CEO, focused on external capital strategy rather than internal financial operations or accounting. A key priority will be IPO readiness, including fundraising and investor relations tied to the transition to a public company. Experience in MedTech, Medical Devices, or Diagnostics is preferred; biotech experience is not a fit for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively lead fundraising efforts, including sourcing and engaging prospective investors and driving capital raises from initial outreach through close.
- Serve as a primary external-facing point of contact for investors, building and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective investor groups.
- Lead FP&A function, including financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision support.
- Own treasury strategy, including cash management, liquidity planning, and capital structure.
- Drive overall financial strategy in support of IPO readiness, including capital markets strategy and investor-facing preparedness.
- Partner with the CFO and CEO on financial strategy and enterprise value creation, without owning internal accounting or controllership functions.
- Develop financial models supporting fundraising, valuation, scenario planning, and long-range strategic decisions.
- Support strategic transactions, M&A evaluation, and investment analysis as required.
- Prepare investor- and board-facing financial presentations, analysis, and recommendations.
- Represent the organization externally in financial and investment conversations, including with prospective investors, board members, and capital markets stakeholders.
Required Experience & Skills
- Significant experience in an external-facing finance leadership role centered on fundraising and investor relations — not an internal accounting or controllership role.
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience actively sourcing and securing investment (not solely managing existing investor relationships).
- Strong background in FP&A and treasury management.
- Proven experience supporting an IPO process, with direct involvement in fundraising and investor relations.
- Industry experience in MedTech, Medical Devices, or Diagnostics preferred; biotech background is not a fit.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities, including valuation, scenario analysis, and long-range strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of capital structure, liquidity, treasury, and financial value drivers.
- Experience supporting strategic transactions, M&A, or corporate development initiatives.
- Ability to translate complex financial analysis into concise, investor- and executive-ready presentations.
- Strong external presence and networking ability, with comfort representing the organization to investors, board members, and capital markets stakeholders.
- Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and sound judgment in managing highly confidential financial information.
Nice to Have
- Experience taking a private MedTech, medical device, or diagnostics organization through a successful IPO.
- Experience operating in a public-company environment following an IPO.
- Direct experience with capital markets transactions, roadshows, or public-company investor relations.
- MBA, CFA, or another relevant advanced finance or business credential.
- Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance advisory.
- Established network of investor relationships within MedTech, medical devices, or diagnostics.
