Corey Thompson
Managing Partner
Corey has over 15 years of executive experience in the conception, management, and delivery of technology to some of the most demanding locations on earth. Corey’s global experience includes both offshore and onshore teams and spans virtually all forms of technology. He is the Managing Partner at BigRio. Prior to this, he was Chief Information Officer for Pacific Drilling where his “Rig First” approach was focused on delivering new capabilities via technology and process improvement directly to the front line of the company on board the deep-water drill rigs to grow revenue, improve efficiency and safety, and delight the companies end customers. After spending over a decade successfully implementing technology solutions for manufacturing, construction, engineering, supply chain, maintenance, maritime, and the military, Corey knows what it takes to make technology a competitive advantage for a company.
Corey’s career includes 10 years with CB&I as VP of Global Supply Chain and SVP of Technology and CIO. Prior to that he spent 23 years in the US Submarine Force culminating as the Resource Sponsor of the Submarine Tomahawk Cruise Missile program and the MK48 ADCAP torpedo program in Washington DC.
Corey is a graduate of the Stanford “Innovative CIO” course as well as the “Disruptive Innovation Strategy” course from Harvard University. He is a retired Naval Officer and board certified Naval Nuclear Engineer. He also holds a bachelor’s in Mathematics from the University of Idaho and a master’s in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School where he graduated with distinction as a Conrad Scholar.
